What should my child wear to class?
To ensure that gymnasts are safe on the gym floor we require your child to be dressed suitably for their class.
shorts or leggings
leotard (not compulsory)
a close fitting t-shirt, crop top or singlet
long hair tied back and off the face
no jewellery (except for stud earrings).
Any clothing your gymnast wears should be relatively tight-fitting while allowing free movement. Any clothing with belts, buckles, buttons or zippers isn't permitted as these items can scratch or rip our equipment. Shoes and socks will need to be taken off before class.
The gym cannot take responsibility for any lost items, we recommend that valuables are not brought to the gym.
We ask that you bring a water bottle and some warm clothes to wear to and from class in the winter months.
Leotards, shorts and longs are available to purchase from our lovely local supplier DIGS
Do I need to stay at the club during my child's class?
Aside from Kindergym (where a parent or guardian is required on the floor) you do not need to stay for your child’s class. We request that if you are leaving the gym that you drop your child no earlier then 5 minutes before class, as our staff are preparing for their classes and cannot supervise your child.
Can I go on to the floor with my child?
Only parents of gymnasts who are under 5 years old and registered in our Kindergym Programs may accompany their child onto the floor. Parents are asked not to go onto the floor during a lesson. If you need to speak with your child (to pick them up early, please find the floor Supervisor. They are wearing a navy shirts with red panelling that says ‘Supervisor’ on the back. You can also ask the one of the office staff to help you and they will pass on the message.
Please do not approach your child or any of the coaches during a lesson.
This is to ensure everyone’s safety and to ensure that our classes run smoothly.
How big are your class groups?
We maintain a student teacher ratio of 9:1, 11:2 or 10:1 (Kingergym) to facilitate individualised instruction.
We were unable to attend a lesson, what should I do?
We allow for 2 ‘make up’ lessons that must be completed within the current term. Notification of your absence is preferred before class, via your GymnasticsBiz portal. You also will book your make-up sessions via the portal. If you need assistance setting up the portal contact office@wodenvalley,net
